Neel Kumar

Hi, I am Neel - an undergraduate student at Delhi Technological University with strong interest in AI but also naturally curious about other fields as well like biology, maths and space.

I am currently working in field of machine learning and deep learning from both sides - as a researcher who likes to understand ideas deeply and as an engineer who enjoys building things.

As of now, I'm enjoying the process of learning, experimenting and working on problems that feel meaningful to me :)

About me

I am mostly self learning AI, machine learning, deep learning and related areas by trying to understand ideas from first principles and applying them on research and real projects

A major part of my current work is with the Microbotics Research Project, where I am working with a global team of researchers on the idea of preventing heart attack before they happen. My work here is focused on computational navigation, reinforcement learning, digital twins, swarm modelling and behaviour, and navigation policy

Alongside this, I am also involved in long term research on clinical machine learning and deep learning with Soham Biren K. under Medical AI Research Institute, MAIRI and this work is helping me explore how machine learning can be used in healthcare related problems

I am also working with the CDSS Engineering Team under Ritika Saha and Alireza Hayati as part of the AI/ML Analysis Working Group at the NASA Open Science Data Repository. The work focuses on AI/ML driven clinical decision support systems, health monitoring frameworks, agent-based architectures, and data-driven approaches for autonomous medical decision-making in deep-space environments

Apart from research, I am also exploring Open Source Development. I see open source as a good way to learn by building, understand real world codebases, and contribute to projects that are used by other people

Beyond my work

I care deeply about the planet. Climate change and the possibility of a sixth mass extinction genuinely worry me. I don’t know yet exactly how I want to contribute in that direction, but I know it is something I care about and want to stay connected to as I grow 🌷

Blue Green Origins is my first small step in that direction. I don’t know yet what it will become or what I’ll do through it, but for now, it represents something I honestly care about — nature, climate, biodiversity, and the living world around us - something I like observing them, reading about them, and even just listening to people talk about them
